Tour of Kwa-Zulu Natal and Swaziland: 14 – 15 May, 2016 – Hluhluwe Nature Reserve

The Hluhluwe Nature Reserve is famous for the restoration of the White Rhino population in Africa. This is mainly due to the efforts of Dr Ian Player and Magqubu Ntombela of the Kwa-Zulu Natal Parks board.

In this reserve we stayed at the Hilltop Camp. This camp it is high up above the clouds and when you overlook the surrounding areas you feel you are on top of the world! The view was very beautiful from our camp and the game drives were very interesting.

We had numerous sightings of buffalo, Nyala and a lot of Red Duiker’s near the camp.

We also had the local Samango monkey which was continuously preying on your food. As we were departing, we saw two very big male elephants in and out of the water. Basking in the sun. It was a delightful sight so we watched them for a while before leaving for our next stop.
