Magical summer months in SA

Visiting sunny South Africa is a wonderful experience, especially during the magical summer months.  You will be spending a lot of time outdoors and enjoying the African sun.

Please make sure that you always wear sunscreen, as well as a wide-brimmed hat that covers your neck and ears. You do not want to walk around with a sunburnt nose and ears!

The sunscreen should protect against both UVA and UVB rays. This will give you protection against sunburn and long-term damage to your cells.

Common Sense

  • Try to keep to shaded areas and not spend too much time in the direct sunlight.
  • Wear a UV protected swim top when spending a lot of time in the water. You can get a severe sunburn while swimming or relaxing in the water.
  • Wear good quality sunglasses to protect your eyes against the glare of the sun.
  • Use a sunscreen with a protection factor of SPF 50+.
  • Remember that after time spent in water, you need to re-apply the sunscreen.
  • Take time to get that fabulous suntan. It will last longer and you will not have unsightly peeling skin.

Have a wonderful holiday!
